I attended Western Michigan University and graduated with a degree in elementary education, English, and Sociology. While teaching at several jobs, including a one-room school, I earned a Masters in gifted education.
I spent a number of years working at Huron Intermediate School District as their consultant for gifted education and professional development. I have also taught graduate level classes for Central Michigan University for the past 16 years.
I took several years off from day-to-day teaching to raise my three children, but returned to the classroom as a substitute teacher when they all were in school. I’m thrilled to be back in school every day in my favorite grade.
Some of my favorite pastimes are reading, quilting, walking and traveling. My family and I have visited more than 30 National Parks. My favorites have been Bryce, Acadia, and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
I also love the theater. I love costuming, and plan to be costuming the sixth grade musical. I am also the director of the high school plays. But I really love going to shows, especially musicals.
